The Tantramar Family Resource Centre invites families in the Tantramar area to celebrate Family Literacy Day in the communities of Dorchester, Sackville and Port Elgin. This year, the theme for Family Literacy Day celebrations is “Bring Books to Life”, with the launch of the Storysacks Project funded by the Town of Sackville. A variety of community groups have made their own Storysacks that they want to share with everyone at this combined Family’s Day Out and Family Literacy Day event. Storysacks include a book, games, ideas and props from the story that bring the book to life. Activities during Family Literacy Day will include story telling, songs, rhymes, crafts and a snack.

Community groups or individuals wishing to participate by organizing or hosting an activity should contact Ila Goodwin at 364-4946 or info@tantramarfamily.ca as soon as possible. As always, these events are free for all families in the Tantramar area. Door prizes graciously donated by local businesses and other groups will be given away throughout the events. Come and celebrate this important day in Dorchester, Sackville and Port Elgin!
